How safe are Dental X’rays?

Digital radiographic images that are used at KSD are one of the lowest radiation studies performed. A periodic examination which may include up to 4 radiographs (x-rays) is equivalent to the same amount of radiation if you travel on a short a (1 – 2 hour) flight.

Advances in dentistry over the years have lead to the low radiation levels emitted by dental X-rays. At Kitchener Street Dental Clinics we only take necessary dental films, and we use digital x-rays which significantly reduces radiation exposure compared to traditional x-rays.
