Innovative technology to support your treatment

Our team at Kitchener Street Dental are proud to host an advanced range of dental technology at our Toowoomba dental practice. Our ability to provide the very best in modern dental care has been greatly enhanced by our in-house modern dental technology. We make a consistent effort to stay at the forefront of dental treatment advancements to help ensure that our patients receive the very best dental care.

Some of the innovative dental technology we have at our Toowoomba practice includes the:

Intra-oral camera

The Intra-Oral Cameras enable your dental condition to be captured instantly. It also allows our team to capture dental records from within the deepest, most seemingly inaccessible recesses of your mouth. An intra-oral camera greatly assists our team in providing a world-class analysis of your dental condition and a tooth by tooth examination of your teeth. Patients are also able to view inside their mouth on a screen, which can help enhance your understanding of your teeth and the issues at hand.

Digital In-house Panoramic Radiograph

Digital radiographs can provide a safer option to traditional x-rays as they require a far lower level of radiation. In addition to this increased safety, a digital radiograph is also a faster way of establishing problems at the core. Some of the benefits include:

  • Reduced radiation by up to 80%
  • No use of chemicals
  • Faster processing of imagery
  • Dual ability to view the records for both the dentist and the patient
  • They provide a greater understanding of the process involved
  • Wider scope of viewing area for a greatly enhanced level of assessment and diagnostic capability

Digital radiographs are an environmentally friendly, non-toxic and safe method of assessment. This technology can make our patients’ experiences at Kitchener Street Dental comfortable and successful.

CEREC

CEREC (Chair-side Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics) has revolutionised the way we perform restorative dental procedures. For those in need of rebuilding teeth from chips, cracks, disease and decay, our CEREC technology can greatly minimise the time you are required to receive treatment.

With the use of CEREC technology, the previous need for messy and lengthy impressions and laboratory work are no longer necessary. This technology utilises the latest state-of-the-art CAD CAM technology to generate virtual impressions and create restorations from the information it processes. There are a number of benefits when it comes to our CEREC technology. Dental crowns and veneers being easily created using this technology, and crooked or misshapen teeth can be treated in a period of around ninety minutes.

DIAGNOdent Laser Caries Detection Aid

DIAGNOdent is a game-changing tool that has been developed to assist in the detection of dental caries lesions. The tool has one of the highest available detection rates with an overall 90% accuracy rate. This high degree of accuracy allows for the detection of even the smallest of lesions, enabling us to treat them in the early stages of their development.

The Wand

The Wand enables us to administer anaesthetic with little or no pain. A common fear of the dentist is the idea of local anaesthetic injections which are used to numb your teeth and gums prior to treatment. Some people are anxious about receiving the injection or feeling discomfort when they do.

The Wand is a revolutionary, computerised device which slows down the delivery of the anaesthetic and more accurately controls the areas to which it is delivered. If the anaesthetic is administered slowly and in exactly the right place, little to no discomfort should be felt. The wand is not only virtually painless, but can also eliminate the ‘numb face’ feeling that is often experienced after receiving dental anaesthesia
